" The most important human creations are our cultures. The cultures we create largely determine whether we kill one another and destroy nature’s life-support systems, or live in a humane and sustainable world. And economic systems are a
key element of ALL cultures.

I have in this book argued that we need a caring economics more congruent with the direction in evolution toward greater consciousness, creativity and caring. I realize that speaking of direction in evolution is today a kind of scientific heresy. At best, it’s acceptable to say there is evolutionary movement toward greater complexity and variability. But as Darwin himself noted, the movement in evolution goes beyond greater complexity and variability to the emergence of needs, capacities, motivations, and possibilities of a different order than those present in earlier life forms.

This does not mean that our species, as one of the last to emerge, is the apex of evolution, and thus entitled to lord it over other life forms. Nor does it mean there is a divine plan or intelligent design. We don’t have any way of knowing what ultimately lies behind evolution, and this is so whether we think evolution is directionless or not.
But it does mean that as life evolved on our Earth, it developed an ever greater capacity for consciousness, creativity, planning, and choice. And while these capacities are not unique to us, they are most highly developed in our species.

Whether these human capacities are expressed, however, largely depends on the kinds of social and economic systems we create. This makes us, quite literally, co-creators of our evolution.

We certainly can’t determine everything about our future. But we can join together to create the social and economic conditions that nurture, drive, and promote the expression of our positive rather than negative genetic capacities. Indeed, having unprecedented biological capacities means that it’s our evolutionary responsibility to use these gifts in positive rather than negative ways.

ALL LIFE FORMS – from the smallest to the largest, from amoeba and plankton to elephants and whales – have to some extent altered our planet. Some have done so by simply appearing on the evolutionary scene. Others have built new structures: birds make nests and beavers construct dams. But no species has come close to what we humans have done.

We have used our imagination and our capacity for turning visions into realities to create a whole new human-made world. Some of what we created is extraordinary: buildings as tall as mountains, airplanes that fly higher than birds, and technologies that reveal subatomic structures, explore outer space, and probe the mysteries of the brain. Some of it is exquisite: beautiful music, poetry and art. But some of it is horrendous: gas chambers, torture chambers, nuclear bombs, and invisible biological weapons for instant mass annihilation.

WE stand at an evolutionary crossroads in our human adventure on this Earth.
We can continue with “business as usual” – even though both science and our native intelligence tell us that the mix of high technology and an ethos of domination and conquest may take us to an evolutionary end. Or we can use the great gifts we were given by evolution to create a new economic story and reality – a caring economics that supports both human survival and human development and actualisation.

It is in our power to imagine the world we want for ourselves and our children.
For most of us, this is a world where our basic needs for food, shelter, and safety,
as well as our yearning for nurturing and love, for justice and peace, and for a sense
that what we do has meaning and helps others as well as ourselves, are fulfilled.
Above all, it is a world where our children survive and thrive.

It is up to us to help create the conditions that support this vision. We have been endowed by nature with an amazing brain, an enormous capacity for love, a remarkable creativity, and a unique ability to learn, change, grow and plan ahead.
If we act now, we can use these capacities to co-create the economic and social systems that support the great gifts we were granted by evolution.

We can’t wait for our national and international leaders to act. Every one of us can be a leader by using our imagination and initiative to change consciousness, practices, and policies."

Financial Times series The Future of Capitalism; written by Martin Wolf & entitled
"Seeds of its own destruction"; absolutely place into context the predominately patriarchal political mind-set of our new masters of the globe who are presently engaged, as ever, in confrontational discussions as to the agenda and its agreed underlying values & principles of their "last chance saloon" economic catastrophe event, due to take place in London on the 2nd April.

There will be a pre-cursor meeting to discuss the 2nd April EVENT this week-end in West Sussex, England to discuss an outline of the agenda but apart from the major EAST / WEST division of savers & spenders amongst the 20 participants, there IS already a major rift within the WEST as to whether regulation of the underlying causes of this catastrophe should be included, as well as adopting the spend, spend, spend mentality of both the US & UK administrations at the expense of the long-suffering, taxpaying and saving communities.

But NOT the unity of man in control of woman as is so often the case with ALL of those religions of the world and their political cohorts which have evolved exclusively in accordance with the patriarchal mind-set. A mind-set that IS genetically rooted in the animalistic survival of confrontation and conflict and one that unfortunately, as our species as a whole has evolved it’s collective consciousness, remains locked into the tribal male dominated “ists” “isms” & “itys” of basic ...

A mind-set that has brought us to the brink of the abyss.

A chasm of mis-understanding of the peoples of this planet, spiritual and non-spiritual alike, who as ever are subject to the backward thinking varigries and leadership skills of our new masters of the globe.

There was a TIME during the early manifestation of our species that respect for the feminine of our species was beyond approach. THIS time around, however, our new masters of the globe have “engineered” an explosion of debt in the west at the expense of the hard labours and savings of the peoples of the East, and established a global infrastructure of banking, commerce and trade which has served the “immorality“ of their self-sophisticated arrogance and greed; whilst running out of oil far sooner than we think, burning what’s left such that our planet is being warmed to a catastrophic level and BEING in complete denial of the fact that the species survival on earth could BE subject to any number of "black swan" events.

TIME to take a rain check on that MODEL and collectively decide upon the constitution of a global model of "equitable thinking" communities, of the people, for the people and by the people.

So what does all this mean for our new masters of the globe?

According to Helen Fisher, speaking at the WEF Forum 2008 in Davos ...

Combine the long-term thinking of women with the short-term focus of men.

And bear in mind that different thinking also results in very different behaviour.

Men think more in terms of status and rank. Women prefer flat hierarchies.

Men can have tunnel vision, women may fail to get to the point.

Women find it difficult to counter aggression. When men push back, it earns them the respect of other men.

When women apologise, they are not really sorry. For men it's a serious affair, a perceived weakening of their status.

Ms Fisher's list goes on and on, but her message is clear.

Managers, says Ms Fisher, have to realise that men and women act differently, and that they complement each other.

Having only men or women on your team would be like hopping on one foot instead of walking.

As the status of women is on the rise again, says Ms Fisher, we

National Marriage Week

As we celebrate National Marriage Week, IT IS

**time to "reflect" on the incalculable value of**

**this social institution.**

THE contribution that marriage makes to social life does not end with the intensive period of raising a young family. When a couple marry, they are not simply legalising their sexual relationship – a step which few couples might think necessary given the relaxed mores of contemporary society. They are making a public declaration of their commitment to one another which joins their two families. IT IS the interconnecting network of all those conjoined families that constitutes a community. Marriage is not simply a testament to the present feelings of a man and a woman but to their readiness to accept responsibility for the future. So the stability of a long-standing marriage can offer emotional security not only to the first generation of children it produces, but to grandchildren, extended family and friends.

Elusive Giant Panda

Twenty years or more ago when my soulmate, Linnie, made this Panda Birthday Cake, on the occassion of one of our three children's birthdays, the Giant Panda was already an "endangered species". My middle daughter Alison became a vegetarian at that time, following her child-hood researches into LIFE on EARTH and subscribing, out of her own pocket money, to Junior Membership of the World Wildlife Fund as well as becoming one of its fund-raisers. It was a family tradition for each of the children to choose what KIND of cake they wanted for their birthdays, and Linnie baked the cake of their dreams for the 18th of January, 12th of February and 18th of February, EVERY year for several years. A diverse multiplicity of cakes, from bird's nests and OWLs to volcanoes and fireworks, including of course one of her masterpieces as pictured above.

MOST of the diverse multiplicity of confrontations, conflicts and consequences, which the peoples of this planet endure, on a day to day basis, fall into the category of mis-understanding, as has long-since been demonstrated between The Peoples Republic of China and Taiwan.

However, following The Peoples Republic's threats of war with Taiwan and the building of the "secret" submarine base on Hainan Island, it was The Peoples Republic which offered an olive branch to Taiwan , in the form of a pair of Giant Pandas, despite the devastating consequences of the earthquake in China last year.

Although Jeff Randall has suggested in his article today that - Bit by Bit Brown's fantasy is being pulled apart by the FACTS - and that - IF this were China we'd shoot the banker's - a reaction, no doubt, that a substantial proportion of the peoples of America would subscribe to, following this week's congressional hearings of those who have had their fingers in the "honey pot "; IT would appear that Barack Obama IS facing not unsimilar problems, in building a team of experts to support him in his own "position of integrity".

Following ALL that has happened this week, across the planet, THE FACT NOW to be considered IS THAT ALL the break-downs of mis-understanding; at the core of EVERY problem, issue, crisis that the peoples of the planet face; IS that ALL the models on which we ALL depend, for politics & democracy, bankers & economics, religion & spiritual behavious, science & the research and development of technology are based on a predominately patriarchal mind-set.

A mind-set which even permeates the concept of ALL THINGS integral & spiritual.

UNLESS the NEW model/s IS/are seen to tear up the "OLD Model Rule Books" of
the last several millenia of evolutionary development of our species; as a result of
"opening the door" to the establishment of "NEW Model Rule Books" which are based on an internetwork of networks of equitable thinking, we shall ALL experience the re-building of a mechanism which will take ALL LIFE on EARTH INTO THE ABYSS.

ANYONE who had read

George Orwell's "ANIMAL FARM"

AND were watching the bankers saying "sorry" yesterday and scrabbling for words of excuse today, before the House of Commons Treasury Select Committee; would naturally have come to the conclusion that we were witnessing a multi-episode spectacle of "four legs" challenging "four legs" at the expense of ALL the "two legs" that were expected to fund “the charade”.

George Orwell wrote his epic as a critique of Stalin’s version of communism but yesterday’s charade, particularly, was a “critique” of the immorality of a system, which capitalism has been allowed to adopt since the de-regulation of President Reagan and Prime Minister Thatcher.

A "de-regulation of morality" NOT a de-regulation of either banking, commerce or trade, to which the
new masters of the globe subscribe, whilst depending for their support on the corruption of those in politics, religion and science who are willing to approach “the pig’s trough”. As Simon Heffer has written in his "Jacqui Smith is a symptom of our consensus of cowardice" article -

"We could work out that Parliament must never again be reduced by an over-powerful but mediocre government to the role of an ornament. This requires no change in our constitution; it requires MPs to enforce the existing constitution properly. The elective dictatorship of which Lord Hailsham warned over 40 years ago has arrived, with the full support of the political class, and with itself as its own main interest. The catastrophe we see around us is its result, and the continuance in office of people like the present Home Secretary one of its many, grievous, symptoms."

HOW can ANY one individual who subscribes to the concept of a GOD, whatever that concept might BE, or indeed any one individual that follows the common-sense reality of his/her own set of moral values deem ALL of THIS as anything other than ENTIRELY UNACCEPTABLE ???

As of yesterday 79% of the peoples of the USA were giving their support to the NEW perspective of morality which Barack Obama has subscribed to in all his writings and throughout his Presidential Election Campaign; BUT as Albert has increasingly challenged elsewhere …

Where IS the Barack Obama of Europe ?

THE BASIS of a “NEW Humpty Dumpty” model of global significance, the peoples of the world have to awaken to the FACTS; and collectively address the underlying problems of the CRISES of politics, religion and science.

FACT 1 – Monetary Wealth can ONLY be generated as a result of the labours of the people; unless of course, money itself becomes a commodity as it has done since Reagan & Thatcher’s DE-regulation, and having done so, has led to the most severe economic crisis that the totality of our species has thus far experienced.

FACT 2 – Bankers have forever tapped into that wealth at the expense of those labours of the people and always utilised it to their own selfish ends, counting on the fact that the capitalist model accepted the fact that banking was too large/important to fail.

FACT 3 – “Capitalism is about the link between effort and reward. It is about the creation of wealth according to the quality of one's enterprise. Without wealth creation there is no scope for the taxation that enables the functions society deems moral: a welfare state, the defence of the realm, the maintenance of law and order.”

FACT 4 – 40% of global GDP has been wiped out as a result of the actions of bankers, quants, politicians and their regulatory framework colleagues, following the “massive expansion of the money supply in western economies and in the developing ones too, whether China, India or Brazil. This expansion, which was the fault of governments because it is they who control the money supply, put trillions of dollars of cheap money at the disposal of bankers and other institutions who make a living by buying cheap – in this case buying money cheap – and selling dear.”

AND NOW the peoples of the globe have been left to “pick up the pieces”
of the OLD Humpty Dumpty system of economics.

Ego

From the outset of our species’ “journey of life” on this planet it has been the power of MEN’s physical and egotistic nature that has driven his instinctive and intuitive understanding of the spiritual component of LIFE, to the point that HIS interpretations of ALL aspects of LIFE have been merged into an indelible pattern of individual responsibility, as custodian, for the collective good of his closest group of the species.

During the early phases of this development the strongest took control and the spiritual was delegated to a.n.other as a partner in the process of control of the feminine and devine feminine perspectives of LIFE. The dual, parallel forces of politics and religion were established side by side, sometimes in conflict, sometimes in unison, until such time as the advent of the concepts of church and state as one and church as state were embodied.

As our species spread over the earth an adherence to this tribal pattern led to animalistic territorial confrontation, conflicts and wars, often at the behest of “religious advice”, and the consequent pillaging of goods and subsequent trade of those goods, for the ever increasing collective good. A collective good, however, which became to be controlled by a corrupt partnership of state and religion, supported by the new politics of Machiavelli.

Bankers and banking appeared on the scene, primarily to fund these conflicts and wars as the catalyst to the process of an ever increasing accumulation of material wealth and power over the people, amply supported by the observations of scientific experiment and the development of ever more appropriate technological solutions; and along came protestant reformation, the commonwealth, the industrial revolution,
the “seeds” of democracy through revolution and capitalism.

Capitalism can best be described as a system in which private capital or wealth is used in the production or distribution of goods, for the mutual benefit of ALL stakeholders, in support of the very best values of democratic society. Capitalism has provided the mechanism by which the potential benefits of global free trade could be made available to ALL 6.5 billion souls on our planet.

Democracy as a form of government in which the supreme power is vested in the people collectively, and is administered by them or by officers appointed by them, IS best manifested as a state of society characterised by recognition of equality of rights and priviledges.

IT IS the breakdown of the, inherently required, responsibility to adhere to the ethical standards first incorporated into the capitalist model, by the likes of Josiah Wedgewood and Henry Ford, in combination with the predominately patriarchal mind-set of our new masters of the globe, which has now resulted in the latest global recession/depression and has brought US ALL to the “abyss”, which we are NOW staring into.

The OLD MODEL of an economic system which generates and gives power to the self-sophisticated, arrogant and greedy nature of capitalists, bankers, and politicians – which has led to the dominance of the private owners of capital and of production of profit for the few rather than the mutual benefit of the many and the subsequent destruction of 40% of global gross domestic product - HAS been found wanting and collapsed into a multitude of diverse pieces, as a result of their collective inability to manage, let alone administer the system for the benefit of the people and now they come to us “cap in hand to ask for more.”

The particular OLD WORLD interpretation of the European version of that OLD ORDER MODEL of an economic system has EVEN developed hand-in-hand with the creation of a European Government led by a small unelected exclusive group of MEN who have the supreme power of the EU in their hands.

An anti-democratic oligarchy IN FACT.

An oligarchy which at present, as the spokesman of the 25 nations of the EU, is preaching to the foremost democracy on earth about its proposed BUY AMERICAN policy - whilst being locked into a system of monetary union which was never designed to cope with the inevitable global boom and bust which we are now experiencing - as one of its NON-EMU member states is “Lording” its special relationship with that self same democracy.

IS IT NOT somewhat ironical that the buy American commitment IS of the people, by the people, for the people in the face of the predominately elitist “DO what I say NOT what I DO control” of the peoples of Europe and the rest of the so called civilised world by that small, unelected, exclusive group of MEN. The leaders of the EU, UK, Russia and China “spring to mind”.

IF every individual one of the peoples of the globe, now decided to lodge their earnings and/or savings into a mutual building society, savings and loan, credit union or for that matter under the mattress, the banking industry would be starved of funds and as Nobel Prize winning economist and former chair of the White House Council of Economic Advisers, Professor Stiglitz has recently suggested, “perhaps it would be best to allow ALL the banks to default on their own debts as a result of being made bankrupt” – but ONLY, I would suggest, on the basis that the banks should become an extinct species, such that capitalism as well as democracy should become a function of the people, for the people, by the people.

A commitment to establishing a social networking site of global significance, based on the concept of conscious capitalism was, I truly believe, the driving force behind Brian’s “zaadz” initiative and its incorporation into the community of GAIA.

IT IS THE collective mind-set of responsible and appropriate ACTION of the zaadsters_et_al@gaia, which MUST NOW PREVAIL, IF we are indeed to
address the underlying problems of the CRISES of politics, religion and science.

The power of conscious thought, meditation, deduction and appropriate responsible ACTION has evolved, within our own species, to the point where an ever increasing sub-set of the peoples of the globe, IS beginning to AWAKEN to the FACT that our
“sole responsibility” is the survival of LIFE on EARTH as ONE SOUL.

The present economic crisis did not start this year, last year or any other year for the last 100 years. IT started with the demise of the LAST GLOBAL EMPIRE of the OLD ORDER and the “birth” of a potential NEW WORLD ENVIRONMENT, as the First World War came and went.

The crises born of that world war and those of the 1930’s happened as a result of the self-sophistication, arrogance and greed, of the new masters of the globe, and the new masters' NEW DEAL which was cobbled together out of the pieces of the fractured old world model. This OLD ORDER MIND-SET took the world through
the disaster that the 2nd world war became and subsequent events in Indo China and the Middle East. Through the savings and loan crisis and its racially discriminate underpinnings, through the Japanese housing-bubble-deflation and now, more recently, through that which will likely evolve into the total collapse of the OLD ORDER global economic system.

Humpty Dumpty

Humpty Dumpty IS well and truly broken, and cannot be re-assembled.

A NEW HUMPTY DUMPTY has to be considered, designed and sustainably implemented to remove ALL vestiges of the self-sophistication, arrogance and greed, which brought us here in the first place.

You may have seen the latest Microsoft TV advertising campaign where everyone is declaring “I'm a PC” …. well what is no doubt NOT understood by any of those people is that the HUMAN INTERFACE GUIDELINES which Apple Computers “borrowed” from Xerox Parc are at the heart of even the good ole PC now, as well as Macs, and they were put in place to enhance the communicative experience of ALL individuals on earth as a result of their interconnection with eachother over the inter-network of networks, bequeathed to us as the World Wide Web, FREE of CHARGE, by Tom Berner's Lee. He did this to enable individuals to ENHANCE their UNDERSTANDING of ALL THINGS UNIVERSAL as a result of the NEED established @CERN underpinned by years of Human Machine Interface evaluation, which I was proud to have supported during my time as an Air Traffic Contoller and my establishment of the world's first interactive videodisc system for the purposes of education of ALL children across the globe.

The whole reason that I watched zaadz for the first 6 months, from afar, and then joined in June 2006 was because of its potentially ever expanding nature, based on an ever expanding tool-set, geared to a TRANSFORMATION of the CONCEPT of CHANGE to a NEW ORDER of mutual benefit to ALL. Others that weren't so open would and have proved to be “crippled” in this regard. Not many understand this yet but IT HAS to BE IF any of it is to happen.

THIS cannot be done by CLOSING DOWN on the ability of links within a comment post to OPEN a NEW WINDOW such that the user can open as many windows as is necessary to provide points of perspective which will guide the reader to the position of being able to make up their own mind as to what they have read … as apposed to the PRESCRIPTIVE perspective forced on the reader by “a rabbit hole” which can only be returned back through by the “BLOODY BACK BUTTON”.

YOU may not understand the ramifications of much of this but please ask FOR WHY your human interface communications experts have decided to do this ? …

because if it is allowed to go on the future development of GAIA as a social network communication tool will be forever “crippled” unless of course the real answer to my question is that again we are ALL going to have to PAY MORE for this facility!

A Labour M.P. stood up in the Houses of Parliament yesterday and started to preach to the conservative Tory benches opposite, politically pontificating about how the problems of the financial market were far more complex than the Tories understood and how THEY the Tories should understand that the ever evolving nature of the economic problems could best be described by “chaos theory”.

The member of parliament in question then went on to state that Labour had
a better grasp of what to do than the Tory opposition. ONLY time will tell.

Most of those people who voted Mr. Blair into power, as leader of the party of NEW LABOUR and
the middle way, to the tune of “things can only get better”, truly believed that a NEW ORDER ENVIRONMENT would fully acknowledge the existence of

Despite the fact that ALL Governments since Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher have completely neglected their responsibilities, in regard to oversight and regulation of the financial services industry, the financial chaos which ALL taxpayers now face IS less to do with scientific analogies than a common sense understanding of the financial chaos which has ensued as a result of self-sophistication, arrogance and greed. The one that the British have endured for the last decade or more, was in the same vain more political than social, perhaps "the times are a changing", such that the NEW OBAMA administration will at least establish a BALANCE betwixt the political and the social, en-route to a revived version of democracy when the politicians will truly BE at the BEHEST of the people.
